Fred Perry Sportswear was founded during the end of the 40s by Fred Perry, a successful British tennis player and Tibby Wegner, an Austrian football player. The famous Fred Perry polo shirt was launched at Wimbledon in 1952 and gained immediate success. The logo, a laurel wreath, is based on the old Wimbledon logo.
